Some of My Favorite Bread Recipes in the Kitchen

I love my kitchen. I invest in good kitchen appliances such as bread machine. They are very simple to use and makes kneading a lot less hassle as the machine can do it for you. I will list some of my favorite recipes for bread when I am making them in my kitchen, and my family sometimes watches me and just waiting for the freshly baked bread.

Broccoli Flat Bread - I like to sneak in vegetables where I can - my son won't touch broccoli but he loves these! The broccoli is shredded so picky eaters that don't like "chunks" of vegetables will most likely give these a chance! Plus, they are really tasty; and as I've said before, I am all about freezing food - I like to freeze half of this recipe for quick meals throughout the month!

My sons' favorite way to eat these is with a side of hummus or stuffed with cashew cheese and grilled panini style, so good!

Carrot Flat Bread - These flatbreads are soft, garlicky and have a slight sweetness from the carrots. My son and I love these by themselves, straight off the pan; but enjoy them as a side to your stews or curries, dipped in hummus or stuff it with your favorite sandwich filling for an extra nutritious lunch! That is why you should invest in a good bread machine for your home.

Hearty Seed Bread - Growing up in France, I've always been somewhat of a bread snob. I grew up in a household of 'real food' - My mom cooked everything from scratch, no cans, no frozen food, no microwave. The food was her obsession, as it is mine today. When I was little, she once bought store bought sliced sandwich bread and squished it flat in front of me, just to show me that it wasn't real bread, just full of air. Real bread will not flatten paper thin if you press on it I was told, which is why we always bought our bread straight from the Boulangerie, where bread had substance.

Now that I'm an adult and a parent, I make all our own bread so that my son can know what real bread is (and also, I enjoy it)! I think I have succeeded thus far, as he's almost 3 and he already prefers my bread to any others. "I want mamas bread!" he shouts when we're traveling and he has to eat store bought bread. Makes me feel good knowing that he's already appreciating real food.

This recipe makes a medium sized loaf. It may not seem like a lot once it's out of the oven but this is a serious loaf of bread; sturdy and filling, you won't need more than one piece of this! It's wonderful with soup, toasted with jam, or eaten as my little guy does, slathered with hummus!

Garlic and Herb Breadstick - Oh my, these are the best breadsticks! I ate so many once they came out of the oven that there weren't many left for dinner! You normally don't associate whole wheat baked goods with being fluffy, but these are. A longer rising time and high cooking temperature really help in making these the soft, pillowy delights that they are. Of course, they're delicious when cool but sneaking a few warm out of the oven is a must, they almost melt in your mouth!
